Mockup
Mockup of the game I will probably make. It will be a spin off of my game 'Combo Postage', about harvesting radishes, carrots, and celery. You will get lots of 'points' by batching together the same kind of vegetables.

Got the main level layout in, plus some things I'll need in the future. Next will be getting the plants falling into place and getting the 'logic' set up, then probably 'veggie throwing', etc...
Vegetables will fall in from above. Yes, stuff falls in an instant like in Combo Postage, and when it hits the 'vegetable rack', it will shake the whole rack, and if you're standing in it, that's the end of Darryl's shift!! Anyway, the 'where stuff goes' system is different than in Combo- it doesn't care if you're already standing in a rack, but it will always try to send stuff to one of the racks with the LEAST stuff.

Hey, it's Kirk from the USA here. My last two LudumDare entries didn't work out so well, and I am not totally free this weekend, so I'm just going to relax this time and not put too much pressure on myself. I'm going to try to make something small and have some fun. :-)

Platformer movement AND 8-directional 'water dashes' on meter. You can combine both momentums for great tricks...

Definitely needs some tweaks and a ton more work, but it's coming along!
Things are going very well! The level design is all done, now all that's left is a few remaining gameplay things, story implementation and polish. :-)

Hello again! My last LudumDare entry was an attempt at a "chill" LudumDare, and while it was only mostly "chill", it was a very successful weekend and I think I made a really wonderful little game. I'm hoping this time around goes just as well. I have more time this weekend, too, so I am very hopeful!
And, here again, is autumn. I usually talk about how great autumn is in this section when LudumDare falls in the, eh, fall, and this time is no exception. Man, I love autumn... I'm going to try to do more baking this season, and maybe finally works towards finding the ultimate vegan candy corn recipe... Anyway, I hope you have a wonderful weekend, and a great LudumDare.

Drew a little something in anticipation. Feel free to use as wallpaper!

It was difficult, but I implemented wall jumping that feels fair and accounts for fraction of a second "errors"

Sea kelp can be collected and thrown. If you collect a lot it gets bundled up and it weighs you down, so you can toss it around and pick it up later. Oh, and it's sticky!

If you collect enough seakelp, it fuses into a sticky ball which makes you move slower and jump lower. You can throw the seakelp ball for better platforming, to collect more seakelp, and possibly to non-lethally bonk creatures to stun them.

Just a few more hours until the end of day 1! I've been working on a lot of "nuts and bolts" stuff, but now onto fun things like level design and then implementing a few obstacles and a few creatures... I'm hoping to have most of the core stuff done by the end of day 1, as well as some much-needed art and sound work.

I like these tiles I made a lot

I may be able to match mostly what was in my head when starting, but only if I am able to charge ahead to the finish... !
LudumDare is back again! I have a lot of IRL stuff to juggle this time around, so it's going to be another chill-style compo for me. The last time I was in "chill mode" things turned out very well, so hopefully things will go similarly! :) Good luck to all!

You play as a creepy-looking wizard and their companion who is a giant indestructable elevator-fairy. The wizard can summon her to do platforming tricks and cause some harmless mischief. It's a good thing these two are Pure of Heart and just want to enjoy nature, or we would be in serious trouble! How many pinecones and blackberries can you collect for the Ultimate Pinecone Potions' Stew?
