First Ludum Dare and first time Dev
Excited to try! I have experience making art for others, but this is my first time developing solo. My goal is to just make something that runs and learn as much as I can in the process. =]

It’s so cool seeing everyone’s different toolsets!
So here’s mine:
Engine: Unreal Engine 5
Language?: Blueprints
Graphics: PhotoShop (ZBrush if I do 3D, but probably sticking to 2D with UE5 gray boxing this time)
Animation: Procreate Dreams
I think Unity or Godot might be more suitable for my plans, but I’m more familiar with UE5 so I will do my best haha!
I’ve never gotten to the audio stage in this short of a time limit. But if I do, I will be looking at everyone’s suggestions so far!

I’ve got the basic controls working, but I’ve hit that point where every fix breaks something else so I think it’s time for bed! I’ve learned a lot about using 2D paper sprites so far. Praise the YouTube tutorials!
I really enjoyed creating Totem Traveller! A platformer where you gather magic to collect totems that reward you with new movement based magical abilities.

Almost every aspect of this project was something I have never done before. An amazing learning experience! Thank you to anyone who takes the time to check out my project! <3
Now, to try out as many other games as I can! Congratulations to everyone who submitted. <3
I finally fixed my download file!
Check it out here: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/58/ld58-totem-traveller Or on my profile, games, LD58 Totem Traveller
Zipped folder containing a now working .exe file and hosted on itch io (sorry for no web version yet!)
Apologies to anyone who attempted to play it last night. Thank you to anyone who takes the time to try out my project. It is a mess, but it is my mess and I'm pretty proud of that!
My only goal for this game jam was to finally make something that runs. But it turns out that is a much harder goal than anticipated! I am now convinced that programmers are math wizards!
