Nearly there, once one level is done it'll just be a manner of copying the scene over and doing another one, and another one, and another one.
Tasks completed: - Player model - Player Controller - Player attack - player stats - Player death - Enemy model - Enemy Movement - Enemy attack - Enemy death - Sounds for player (idle, moving, shooting, death) - scenery started.

so far have only had 1 real mistake happen, went to export a new player model with UV maps, and the one in the engine absolutely broke so I've just spent the past hour fixing it.
outside that Level 1 is basically all done, going to work on main menu UI and Scripts as well as figuring out exactly what kinda data will need to be saved... so far maybe just "is the level completed"
pretty much everything is in place for a functional 1 level game, but I ALWAYS make 1 level games for jams, I really REALLY want to make a second and third levels.
do i spend it trying to fix a clamping issue for some QOl, or quickly burn out a 3rd level
hey all, drop a link to your compo game if you see this, on wednesday or thursday i will be going through them all to make a video for youtube
this is more about the trust of the individual, I will not play a game that requires a download, who knows who put what in their rar files or zips, or exe, you could go to play the game and get a bunch of malware.
now is this everyone always, no!, but it does happen, so as a safety precaution always make a version of your game playable in the browser otherwise you might get skipped over.
So I apologize in advance if anyone is insulted by what i said while playing their game, most of them are bangers, some of them are just kinda ok, and only 1 got a real negative review but it's mostly because im dumb, and i couldn't read the instructions.

Apologies for the lack of #LDJam updates. Found myself crunching on a few unrelated things the past week(s). I have something due by midnight, and I sincerely hope I have that working soon. If all goes well, I'll open up signups tonight. 🤞😅
I've tried in the past to come up with themes that aren't stuck to a rigid image and i think i failed at that, so this time I wanted to bring something very open to the suggestions.
"Rings" there is a very wide range of things that this could mean, fighting ring, sonic style collectable rings, ring weapons, magic rings, halo rings etc.
and
"Doctor(verb or noun)" this could be medical, or manipulated, altered, changed, etc, lots and LOTS of open space here for interpretation, maybe too much.
there are only 4 that I've not liked and most are pretty neutral, and a few goods, but i can on the spot come up with ideas for most of these.
they (mostly) have an open definition or alternate meaning, - "Plant the seed" could be about propaganda, or rebellion instead of gardening. - "Anchor" will generate a lot of boat themed games but that's not terrible. - "Doors" is a bit weird and i both like and dislike it because it can be super simple or it can go a very dark horror route with it. - "Depths" i've been waiting for a theme kinda like this to make a specific dwarf themed game. - "Recharge" as long as it has batteries it can be recharged, or maybe making a game about recharging social batteries - "Fragmented" lots of places to go with this one my brain goes to either space or ice. - "Overflow" again brain goes to water, like a game about not overfilling a cup of water or like having to carry a bucket somewhere without it spilling. - "Limited vision" we all know where this one will go, lots of games with a lot of black screen, but that in and of itself isn't the end all be all, theres plenty of stories to tell in that vein and plenty of mechanics to work with that others won't think of - "parasite" I actually had a really fun idea in this theme cause i was super sick last week and i thought it would be fun to make a game about spreading sickness in confined spaces like offices and schools and stuff (maybe teach a few lessons) - "Sanctuary" my brain goes fantasy or apocalypse, tower defenses could work, or wave based games of most kinds, or isolated spots of protection in hostile environments - "Garden" i mean it would be fun to just make a farming game - "Fragile" makes me think of the opening scene from ace ventura - "Trade" lots of options here, space trucking, trading with villagers, trading in prison, trading cards, etc - "tiny city" honestly this one is my top pick right now because i would really like to make a tile based city builder/card builder game.
as for the ones im not into

And here we are. I like a lot of these themes but I needed to be strict and go with the ones that I can on the spot come up with ideas for, hopefully if it’s a theme I have no plan for the RNGesus grants me inspiration
Desk is all clean, white board is clear, template is built, all I need now is a theme and a dream.

Level 1 of ?, the hope here is to have at least 3 levels, level 1 here will be exploring a small cave system after being lost to the depths of the planet.
Level 2 will introduce enemies, maybe goblins or something like that, and their camp.
Level 3 will be where the dragon sleeps and the players (as of LD57) SHOULDN'T be able to win that fight, however things happen so there will be a win condition, but generally i expect them to lose.

I had a rough idea of what I wanted to do, I had 2 technically, but waking up this morning I was inspired, I’m going to combine my cave levels with a submarine style game play, it’ll be a little iron lung ish, but it’s also game jam so it’s not going to be super polished
