Samurai Shaver v1.12 - Audio Latency Calibration!
Hey LD friends!
It's been quite a while, but I'm proud to announce version 1.12 of Samurai Shaver, our 1st place entry from Ludum Dare 40.
The main change in this update is the addition of an all-new audio latency calibration screen!
In addition to automatic calibration (by tapping to the beat), there's also a testing screen where you can manually adjust calibration to your liking. This is a huge boon for any Android users especially as the Android platform is notorious for having sub-par audio response times.
I've also turned on "predictive audio" by default, which is really just a fancy way of saying that the sword slash sounds will be perfectly in sync with the music, rather than reacting dynamically to player input. Reacting to player input was a good idea in concept, but ultimately the audio latency ended up subtly throwing many players off (myself included).
If you haven't yet tried Samurai Shaver, you can view its Ludum Dare page here. It's available on both WebGL as well as iOS and Android!
