Brigit Fall by nihilaleph
When "jumping", your calculation must be really precise, other wise you can end in a very inconvenient place! In "Brigit Fall", YOU, yes YOU, were in chase of some criminal called Branigan, but a miscalculation made you crash into an unknown planet. Can YOU do what it takes escape this mysterious place?

Hello hello everyone!
Thank you for checking out my entry for LD36! This time I made a text adventure! I've been wanting to do one for some time, but never really made one. When they announced the theme Ancient Technology, I wanting to create an adventure/exploration game, with an air of mystery to the objects found, but I knew I wouldn't be able to do that graphically, I'm a programmer and my graphics skill are hardly my best. But as I also play a lot of table top RPGs, I decided to make a text game that could evoke more of the player imagination.
This game is a very simple one, and although the quality of writing doesn't keep up until the end, I hope you can have fun reading/playing this little journey. This project had many ups and downs, but I will discuss this later in my Post Mortem, which I should write after one or two weeks, after I gathered some feedback.
As always, please leave a comment so I can check your game too!
Congratulations to all!

Visually suits the theme of being on a ships monitor. The scroll after every choice made is nice but once the text builds up it can really take a while.
I felt the need for background music.
Good entry though!
It does make me not really reading the text and select randomly. There was no indication which text was new so it's probably not important.
And I agree, nice writting!
And I did found several endings so it's not that bad. :P
@Geckoo1337 Oh yes, in fact the Ink scripting language was developed to turn one of those adventure books into a game! I've always wanted to read one of those but never had the chance T_T But I'm glad my story evoked good memories~
Yes, I really wanted some BGM! But my composition skill is very limited... But now I added a recommended BGM, I hope the playthrough will be better~
Thank you all for playing and for the feedback! Cheers~
Generally, I enjoyed the writing here, and the story worked pretty well (as well as the meaningful choices). One thing I find understandable in Compo timeframe, but still noticeable, is that some paths were cut short; e.g. I don't think there's much you can do outside the shield (except for dying from radiation).
Also, I'd really like to have some sort of restart button after completing the game. Its lack makes exploring alternate endings a bit more of a pain than necessary... ^^'
Works on itch.io though.
I really like the format of the text. The way it all reads as a single log file.
But it does become annoying when the amount of text added is larger than my screen height.

@Alphish I'm glad that it was worth your time~! =D I was going to have some more information about the planet in case the player decided to stay outside the shield, but I didn't have time to write everything I wanted ^^; (But ultimately the player would die). Oh yes, I wanted to add a restart button, but I'm not sure if there is a way using Ink, I'll definitely try again next time! Sorry for the inconvenient!
@Waynetron Sorry about the size ^^; I was thinking about having smaller font size, but didn't know if it would be a problem... And maybe I got overexcited with my writing and produced too long texts xp
@jsmars It should be working now! If not you can always play on itch.io ;)
@darthbox1 Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it ^^
@SamuelSousa Thank you for the reply! I think it should be better now!
What's presented of the world and story is pretty good. The pacing feels a bit rushed, and lacks focus, though. The scenes don't connect much to one another, and the story keeps jumping around with no breathing time.
I guess that was a necessary sacrifice to get the full plot in within the deadlines, and I do appreciate that we actually got a full story from start to finish.
Was a nice experience. Good job!
