GalactiRogue

Title Pending :)

It's not done, but the core thing, the idea I had for Deeper and Deeper, is there. There's not any real progression yet, but it is starting to take shape. It's still rough around the edges, but it actually kinda looks like a game now.

Controls are KB + Mouse only for now WASD to control the ship (W and S throttle forward and back, A and S turn the ship) Space to activate the flight assist (acts as a brake when not pressing W or S, otherwise it straightens your flight) LMB shoots a pulse laser (There's nothing implemented to destroy yet) Hold Shift to engage the warp drive. You need a minimum of 100 fuel to warp to a new sector, and you must hold shift long enough for that fuel to be used, otherwise you shoot off into the distance and lose the fuel. Currently, a maximum of 200 fuel can be used for a warp, after which the warp will end on it's own. Unfortunately, there's not actual GUI feed back yet on when the warp has consumed enough fuel, so you kinda have to wing it.

Fly through a nebula to passively gain fuel. The fuel rate is massively boosted as it's the only source for fuel right now. In a more complete version nebulae are slow, last resort method of getting fuel.

I hope to continue this after the game jam to completion and maybe actually release it.

The nebulae are very pretty :) I also loved the trails showing you how fast you're going, like in Star Wars.
But other than that tbh there's not much here ... the controls are hard to use and there's nothing to do. But I feel like you could take this in a lot of directions.

I really like the atmoshpere, especially when moving around at fast speeds, I'm not sure what I am supposed to do with my ship, definetely potential for a great game though!

Not really sure what the goal of the game is or if the shooting is actually used. That being said the game is pretty and I like the warp speed

Controls really make me feel like I'm in space where inertia has to be managed, but felt a bit too difficult in its current iteration. Maybe some visual indicators on which way you are getting accelerated would have helped, or maybe I'm just a bad pilot.

Also might have helped if ship triangle was a bit pointier so it was easier to tell which way I was facing.

Warp drive felt really cool though, very nice effects.
