It's A Start :D by Redslash12

Using this as an excuse to get into godot! I was able to make the start of a platforming engine. Players can walk, run, jump, double jump n times, slide, dash, wall slide, and wall jump!

Controls: - Keyboard: arrows/wasd = move, left shift = run, space = jump, left ctrl/double tap direction = dash - controller: Leftsick/dpad = move, bottom face button = run, right face button = jump, top face button = dash - slide = Down+jump

Last minute addition of info written to the screen, lets you know the player's current state. It was hard to tell what was happening without animations.

Final thoughts: left/right dash buttons would be good. Game should be more floaty, things fall a bit fast. When dashing up player should keep some momentum at the end so they don't immediately start falling. Code wise I think its pretty messy. Let me know if you agree with me :)

Welcome to Godot! I use it for a lot of my games and I really like it.
Glad to see you were able to give it a shot and I like how you used the Godot logo for everything lol

I enjoyed all the different little mechanics you put in your platformer - the wall kick was a particular surprise. I agree with your feedback, I think floatiness and in particular keeping momentum when dashing->jumping would make it feel better!

Not a complete jam entry, but very promising start to a platformer.

Ah dang, It's unfinished, yeah, but you're starting with a new language. Keep it up.

You achieved your goal of getting into Godot! Hopefully you can make it out to the next Ludum Dare too. (Hello from the LRR discord.)
