12-to-6 Shift by BGSulz

My game jam team needs me, and I'm stuck on this lousy 12-6 pizza delivery shift. But I've got an idea.

I found this dinky robot in my garage. Always gets stuck in a loop, but it'll have to do. I'm going to program it to run my delivery routes for me.

Controls:

First, I'll get my bearings by looking around with right-click-drag and the scroll wheel.
I just have to drag the instructional chips into the control console to program the robot’s movement and hit the Play button (⏵).
I can left-click on the "Shift" chip to adjust its value. If I want a cleaner run, I can press the [Start Fresh] button.

I have to say, this is the first game where I went "I'd play MUCH more of this." My only two criticisms are that the functions aren't suuuuper self explanatory, and in a game where editing par is a thing, not giving your players all the information before they begin is a little rough. Also, the music, while VERY fun, needed to do either one of two things- be less foreground and more background, or be twice as long.

All that being said, I loved this game, and everyone should play it. Your team did an incredible job. The graphics are stellar, the writing and scenario, while campy, is very fun and engaging. I loved the take on the theme. Incredible work.

Very relevant, good music and images.
Finally, can it be accelerated?

@iron-leonem Thank you for your kind, constructive, and detailed feedback! The level par display was the victim of time-crunch. If there's a post-jam version, par will be front and center. Thanks again for playing!

@dyguests Thank you for your feedback! The speed is locked, but that's a great idea for a potential post-jam version.

Hey @bgsulz
, @robert-buchley
and @gardosj

I just
wanted to say that I really had blast with your game.
The whole entry seems reaalllyyy polished
. The music is very very
fitting
, graphics are just great and I loved the story between each level. The feeling of success after accomplishing a puzzle is pretty nice. The additional mechanics are keeping the experience fresh. The only thing I have to say is that it took me about 2-3 minutes to figure the basics out. But I don't think it's something really negative and should be expected from an experimental puzzle game. Overall I only can say awesome work

The game is very complete, and the limitation of the instructions for the robot within the loop. It makes it a little more curious and fun.
The only thing that doesn't suit me is that after rerunning the instructions and getting stuck in the loop I can continue modifying them.

This game has an extremely impressive level of polish. Playing it did not feel how playing a jam game usually feels. The detail on the visual design and effects along with the subtle sounds for every interaction made this feel like it could've easily been a complete game. At first I was confused by the fact that I was supposed to edit the instructions mid-play but once I figured it out it actually set this game apart from a lot of similar gameplay loops and made it a surprising challenge to minimize my edits. Really impressive work.

Very Nice. The music was awesome, and the storyline was great. The graphics were really nice too. Instructions could have been a bit clearer but overall, a really nice job.
