This is my first time entering any kind of LD, so I'm pretty excited! It's also the first time I've made it this far into developing a game in a long time! (Admittedly, not very far.)
This was made by my sister and me, starting... Tuesday maybe?
My sister ( http://essemjeeves.deviantart.com/ ) had started a character sprite and tileset without any particular game in mind. Then I saw this and decided it might be a good way to force myself to finish a game.
I didn't finish a game.
But I did start!
And after a mad dash to add sound effects, and a semi-playable level, here it is!
7 hours too late!
It isn't much of a game, really.
More like an engine test, but at least its nice to look at!
There's a good bit more to it that's only half finished, and we definitely do plan on finishing it. My sister's DeviantArt is the only real online presence either of us has right now, so when it is finished (or at least less unfinished) that's where it'll be.
Press A to Jump, Press S to Dash.
Touch the Spheres of Light to extend your Jump/Dash
You slide down slopes if you are not dashing.
Press Esc to Exit
I can't wait to try everyone else's entries, but I haven't slept tonight, so yeah, tomorrow... er... today. whatever.

I'd enjoy a lot playing an extended version of this!
I like the dashing mechanic. It's not quite as forced as similar mechanics in other games - you still have to execute to get where you want.

The spheres of light mechanic might need a little bit of work, but I could totally imagine the character skipping through the air and using the parasol to glide or get lifted by updrafts.
