A Blind Man in the Darkness by TomPritchard

More of a visual poem, and a quite personal one at that, than a game in itself. Can you relate to it, too?

Quite an interesting experience. I really enjoyed it. One unfortunate point to note was that I had to look back and forth between the text at the bottom of the screen and my character (to avoid obstacles) as I was just moving through.

There's something wrong with web version, at least under Firefox 8.0 / Win7, because I couldn't see the text. Everything's fine when using Windows/Linux/Mac link.

Interesting experience, but a little too short. The whole metaphor is a little flat for me, but it's probably due to fact I played a lot of artsy games. Either way, a good entry.

I can appreciate taking a slightly less game-y approach to make something a bit more artful, but the 'art' could have resonated a bit stronger if more elements from the poem were depicted in the game world. For example, instead of just walking through a dark cave what if he was chasing a floating 'beacon of light' that shatters at the end. Instead of the character casting a circular light, the beacon would be the only light source in the scene, and at the end you're left in total darkness. At least that's how i would've done it. Still a nice, thoughtful experience.

I love the atmosphere.

The text on the bottom is kind of hard to read while playing. Maybe text in the center?

Mood, audio, art, poem... it's all good. But this is game competition :(

It is a game to me, and a good one. Thanks.

The presentation was great but being forced to reread the beginning of the poem when you die (too many floaty, blind jumps) reduced the impact of its message.

As you say, not much gameplay, but good atmosphere - I liked the music and graphical style.
