Inquisition by drakekin
The inquisition knock on your door one night accusing you of heresy. To ensure your compliance, they take your one and only daughter to their fortress city and demand you submit yourself in thirty days for your trial. If you attempt to flee, they will take it as your guilt and punish your daughter in your stead. Your lord, having no love for the inquisition, has gifted you safe passage out of the country, but you must free your daughter and find her a second ticket yourself. Created in ~24 hours on Sunday, contains absolutely no killing.

You did a great job with the graphics and lighting effects. I would have liked to see a travelling dot, though. The font was challenging to read! A status bar to keep track of how many locals are helping me would have been great.
In the end, I rescued my daughter and the game said "great, now get to the port!" Since I had forgotten which dot was the port, and since none of them seemed to be clearly marked "port", I gave up at that point.
arrogant.gamer: Thanks, sometimes the port and fortress get put in the same city and I didn't have time to fix it. Since it falls under "game breaking", I'll try and fix it tonight.
It is a bit too bad that the game is heavily luck-based.
(For me the arrow is displayed about 50 pixels over the town I'm actually in, is that intentional?)
Lesson learned: Do not do a 48 hour game compo in 20 hours.
A general comment. The way Ludum Dare works you need to rate games to get rated. Currently you only have 5 ratings and have rated none. So to hurry rate at least 20 games and be sure to leave comments as most people tend to rate back!
