Seven Soaring Super Sonic Space Shooter Sessions by Pheonise

[raw]
made by Pheonise for LD28 (JAM)
You only get one chance.
Once you die, you're out.
Of the game.
Out of the server, in fact. Brutality = 100.

IMPORTANT: Once the host of the hardcore server gets killed, the server will close, and everyone will be booted. That's why it's hardcore.
If you'd like your server to stay up, run a separate instance of the game, and choose Dedicated Server
*Probably requires you to port forward!

Controls:
- WASD + QE to move
- Mouse to look

INFORMATION:
Made within the confines of the Ludum Dare compo rules, except that I used pre-made models (Oh, the woes of not being a modeller!). After 4 hours of trying to model spaceships in sketchup, I bit the bullet and moved to the jam rules.

Everything you see, though, was done in the original 48 hours (More like 24, since I had a different game originally...)

This was my first foray into multiplayer games, and I had to learn everything about Unity's networking system as I went. Also, had to learn the GUI system. Not a fan of either.
A lot of learning through this Ludum Dare, but that's what it's all about!

6DoF games seem to be my jam, so I made a sort of spiritual successor to an old prototype of mine ;)

There were a few glitches that made it mostly unplayable, but it was a valiant attempt. networking is tricky business, and modeling is definitely a skill (one I don't have either). well done.

Got some ppl to try it with me... I liked it.

I wish it was more theme oriented though.
