Crowns by Geti
Heads up this is a board game for 2 players - I'll hopefully get to coding an AI for it at some point, but for best results play it with a friend or enemy.
The readme has a description of the cards, which you may find useful (particularly for the buffs)

To play, run PlayCrowns.bat

========================================================
Rules:
Each player has a deck of cards
Each player has an open hand of 4 cards
Players each place 1 card onto the board,
and then the game advances one step.
When a player's deck runs out, their
discard pile (except any discarded crowns)
are shuffled and used as a new deck.
The game continues until one or both players
are out of crowns.
========================================================
Pieces

- dies upon taking any piece

protection from pawns
Tower - attacks 2 squares ahead
- doesn't move
Farm - lets you draw an extra card
each turn
Flag - lets you use an extra card
each turn
Sword - lets you use all your cards
in one turn
Shield - prevents enemies from moving
or attacking this turn
Siege Engine - attacks 3 squares ahead
- only attacks if not blocked
- moves forward if cant attack
- dies if it hits an obstacle
Bomb - kills whatever it's placed
on top of
- can be used to clear walls
and flags tactically

It's fun, once you wrap your head around the rules. Some AI would be great, as it's really hard to find another human being willing to play board game on a PC. :D
@sharp911 - sorry to hear that, thanks for commenting
@psychomonster @dieblume86 - I wanted to get some particle spam in there but ended up focusing on the sound and gameplay, smooth transitions of cards, etc rather than making it as pretty as I'd usually fuss about :)
If there was any audio I did麓nt hear it.
@crushenator - yeah it'd be fun to add some more types of cards, was thinking something that could attack sideways
@2bit - understandable, that was a concern for me but I didn't want to half-ass the opponent.
@skonkan - interesting, its using SDL's audio so should work ok with just about anything you throw at it :/
it lacks some graphic work though
