Borkmaster by Esjaji

made by Esjaji for LD31 (JAM)
Here it is, the first time I've actually finished a game for Ludum Dare! It's not nearly as complete as I'd like it to be; I spent too much time stumbling over simple problems, and working on all the assets, and I wasn't nearly as focused as I'd have like to have been.

I would have liked to add some more collectibles and moving obstacles, as the game seems a little easy at the moment. With more time, I'd have added a little more polish, and I would've liked to have a go at making my own music. Instead, I've resorted to good ol' Kevin Macleod!

The game does have a scoring system, but no actual scoreboards, so perhaps there's something to think about implementing in the future.

Still, I got to be a dork and make a game literally based entirely on one screen (providing it doesn't glitch out!) and I'm just happy to have actually submitted something at all this time!

Fun game, you would think more of these type of games would show up in other games, like you enter a bar, and a little one screen game is there. You did allot with a little, in a short period of time. It was tough and fun.

Love how the character inadvertently rolls! Was that by mistake or design? Haha!

Awesome theme implementation. I like how you did the double jump mechanic. Getting it at the peak isn't something I'm used to with double jump. The hero does seem unusually sticky.

IT's a cool idea and looks pretty awesome. I found it seems pretty random where the next platform comes out and so sometimes it isn't possible to move before you die. that's a bit of a bummer.

good idea, but there are many situations where there is no way to jump on a platform
