I got an idea!
Or many ideas... No, actually, this time it seems I'm running with the first idea that started to flesh itself out after a small moment of ruminating the theme.
Keyword for my game is... TARDIGRADES!!! :boom:
You know, those microscopically tiny animals, hangin' out just about anywhere, survivin' just about anything!
:rocket:
Contrary to my usual workflow, I'm going to start by drawing the main game scene first. This is how I would LIKE to start my games, but somehow I always end up hacking the code until spaghetti manifests itself. Maybe this time I can stick to my plan and by the time I have workable art, I'll have a plan for the mechanism.
Technology-wise, I think I'll make it a browser game. It'll be fast to test and easy to deliver. Still not sure whether to use a custom framework with Pixi as the renderer, or try to save time with something like Phaser. Haven't used Phaser, so I'm worried it will actually take more time to learn the ropes. We'll see.
Other tools that I'm probably going to use: - Graphics: Affinity Photo/Designer, maybe Photoshop if needed - Sounds: my new (cheap!) headset microphone for mouth sounds, audacity or something for making those sound effects more effective. - "Music": I have a feeling it's going to be mouth-made as well. Apologies.
