1. Heart Star (AdventureIslands)<\/h2>\n

What it is:<\/strong> Retro, balanced, polished and complete with fantastic pixel graphics and short, compelling puzzles.<\/p>\n

Why I like it:\u00a0<\/strong>There is something nostalgic about it.<\/p>\n

This is the one game I saw which could be sellable as is.<\/p>\n

Heart Star (AdventureIslands)<\/p><\/div>\n

2. Planetary Marriage Counseling (WeaselZone)<\/h2>\n

What it is:<\/strong> A hilarious game where you and your spouse are chained together and go on dates. \u00a0\u00a0Works well as a two player co-op game.<\/p>\n

Why I like it:<\/strong> It\u2019s fun even when things are going wrong. Epic when things are going right.<\/p>\n

It made me divorce my wife over and over again\u2026.for the fun of it.<\/p>\n

Planetary Marriage Counseling (WeaselZone)<\/p><\/div>\n

3. Dino Bolt (GeorgeBroussard)<\/h2>\n

What it is:<\/strong> An endless runner where dinosaurs are escaping a zoo helicopter.<\/p>\n

Why I like it:<\/strong> It is fun and addictive. It shows you don\u2019t need a complex idea to make a great game.<\/p>\n

I lost time playing it.<\/p>\n

4. Mammoth Monkey Mole (ehtd)<\/h2>\n

What it is:<\/strong> A puzzler where different creatures have different abilities.<\/p>\n

Why I like it:<\/strong> The sounds are hilarious and the puzzles have a good learning curve where you never feel it is too difficult.<\/p>\n

You get to play a mammoth, a monkey and a mole. Need I say more.<\/p>\n

5. Hop Hop Planet (SnoutUp)<\/h2>\n

What it is:<\/strong> A 2-d take on Super Mario Galaxy.<\/p>\n

Why I like it:<\/strong> It has great look, with lots of variety and a good replay factor.<\/p>\n

All the things that can kill you look friendly, but looks can be deceiving.<\/p>\n

6. Space Breakers (DJWizardCop)<\/h2>\n

What it is:<\/strong> Breakout with a Space Invader twist.<\/p>\n

Why I like it:<\/strong> My wife will kill me if I don\u2019t.<\/p>\n

My wife wouldn\u2019t give the keyboard back and she did the same when my daughter was rating it. \u00a0 In fact she is probably still playing it now (I\u2019m hungry \u2013 she hasn\u2019t fed me this week).<\/p>\n

Space Breakers (DJWizardCop)<\/p><\/div>\n

7. Red Thread (NickZangus)<\/h2>\n

What it is:<\/strong> Two linked characters have to negotiate obstacles to reach each other.<\/p>\n

Why I like it:<\/strong> The looks that the characters give each other when they die \u2013 it\u2019s those little attentions to detail and some wicked, mean puzzles that make this game.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s cute and deadly.<\/p>\n

8. Galactic Bonding (alvarop)<\/h2>\n

What it is:<\/strong> You are a baby planet copying your dad planet\u2019s facial expressions.<\/p>\n

Why I like it:<\/strong> It\u2019s short, hilarious and could be played by a toddler.<\/p>\n

My daughter (not a toddler)\u00a0keeps following me around trying to copy my facial expressions.<\/p>\n

9. Stanley Squeaks and the Emerald Burrito (Two Scoop Games)<\/h2>\n

What it is:\u00a0<\/strong>A puzzle platformer where you play a hungry hamster.<\/p>\n

Why I like it: \u00a0<\/strong>Cute as hell, and a great game mechanic.<\/p>\n

I kept killing the hamster just to hear its death scream.<\/p>\n

Stanley Squeaks and the Emerald Burrito (Two Scoop Games)<\/p><\/div>\n

10. Lethal Reflection (Steve)<\/h2>\n

What it is:<\/strong> Geometry Wars.<\/p>\n

Why I like it:<\/strong> Geometry Wars.<\/p>\n

By the guy who wrote Geometry Wars. Need I say more.<\/p>\n

11. Space Train (SupSuper)<\/h2>\n

What it is:<\/strong> Snake on a train\u2026. in space.<\/p>\n

Why I like it:<\/strong> Quirky and amusing. \u00a0It\u2019s fun, but you really don\u2019t care that it\u2019s difficult.<\/p>\n

I wore my train driver\u2019s outfit while I played.<\/p>\n

12. Burger Beat (TrickFishPie)<\/h2>\n

What it is:<\/strong> A\u00a0running game where you bash the keyboard to operate your runner.<\/p>\n

Why I like it:<\/strong> It is so bizarre that you have to admire the mind that created it.<\/p>\n

Is it wrong that I find it hilariously funny when your man fails to jump a hurdle?<\/p>\n

13. Orange (JaJ)<\/h2>\n

What it is:<\/strong> A moral tale in a Zelda-esque world.<\/p>\n

Why I like it:<\/strong> The use of colour is good. \u00a0It does not feel worthy despite the subject matter.<\/p>\n

A thoughtful idea, burdened by an overly long maze.<\/p>\n

Orange (JaJ)<\/p>\n

14. PRISM (rantt)<\/h2>\n

What it is:<\/strong> A puzzle platformer where they keep changing the rules.<\/p>\n

Why I like it:<\/strong> There is a heavy emphasis on the puzzles themselves, not the packaging (which is not missed).<\/p>\n

When I first saw it, I thought \u201cnot another of these\u2026\u201d but its strength lies in its puzzles.<\/p>\n

15. Savior: Saver of Souls (John Drury)<\/h2>\n

What it is:\u00a0<\/strong>Like Super Crate Box with rising lava.<\/p>\n

Why I like it:<\/strong> Fast paced, short, and a classic example of the genre.<\/p>\n

If only I was as good at this game as I was at killing time with it.<\/p>\n
