{"assets":[],"author_link":"author\/phatphaux\/","author_name":"PhatPhaux","cat":"LD #29","categories":["LD #29"],"comments":[],"epoch":1398561000,"event":"LD29","likes":5,"metadata":{"p_key":"81257","p_author":"PhatPhaux","p_authorkey":"0","p_urlkey":"290374","p_title":"(Untitled)","p_cat":"LD #29","p_event":"LD29","p_time":"1398561000","p_likes":"5","p_comments":"0","p_status":"WAYBACK","us_key":null,"us_name":null,"us_username":null,"event_start":"1398384000","event_key":"22","event_name":"LD29"},"source_url":"2014\/04\/27\/349729\/","text":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.ludumdare.com\/compo\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/EndlessBeast.png\"><img alt=\"EndlessBeast\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-349730\" height=\"109\" src=\"http:\/\/www.ludumdare.com\/compo\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/EndlessBeast-300x109.png\" width=\"300\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>After what seems like a whirlwind of headaches I have something to show for it.\u00a0 Being my first time I have have to say I really didn\u2019t know what I was getting myself into, and now I know why the warm-up exists.\u00a0 I started and changed about 3 ideas before I finally settled on this one and and it is coming together brilliantly <img alt=\":)\" class=\"wp-smiley\" src=\"http:\/\/ludumdare.com\/compo\/wp-includes\/images\/smilies\/icon_smile.gif\"\/><\/p>\n<p>My first idea was to make a game about a Vet for monsters that would use magic to get super small and fight the diseases \u201cBeneath the surface\u201d I got the platforming down and did some cool stuff with the tiles, it wasn\u2019t working for me.<\/p>\n<p>So I started over\u2026.at about 10 am the next day I had this.<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ludumdare.com\/compo\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/LD292.png\"><img alt=\"LD29\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-349739\" height=\"204\" src=\"http:\/\/www.ludumdare.com\/compo\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/LD292.png\" width=\"280\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>This time it was the same idea but instead of a platformer it would be a 2d brawler which I\u2019ve actually made before but this still wasn\u2019t quite fitting what I wanted.<\/p>\n<p>Around 2pm I threw my hands in the air almost ready to give up, I conceded to playing some League of Legends and Diablo 3, and maybe that\u2019s just what I needed\u2026Ideas started spamming my brain and I got to animating and drawing the concept characters right away.\u00a0 And now I have a working basic game with \u201ccheat\u201d physics and \u201cpretend\u201d logic, its almost like you have to be able to come up with ideas of how to make it look like its doing something extremely complex while just tricking the eyes by doing something much more basic.\u00a0 Man I love Masks haha.<\/p>\n<p>GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE!
