I\u2019m in again. I just can\u2019t help myself. Ludum Dare is fun. Truthfully I wish it were more frequent. I have no idea what style game I\u2019d like to make this time. Well, not entirely true. I\u2019d like to make a 1981\/2 Williams style arcade shooting\/blasting game, but have no idea on style or genre. Will see that the theme is.<\/p>\n

On creativity\u2026originated from a friend\u00a0at Remedy\u00a0(IIRC) made this little chart on the Creative Process. I find it very accurate and particularly suited to Ludum Dare.<\/p>\n

Most everyone goes through the above on\u00a0most any project from Ludum Dare to iOS to Steam to Assassin\u2019s Creed or Call of Duty. The trick is to not get discouraged in steps 3 and 4. Fight through it. Don\u2019t second guess everything. Don\u2019t doubt everything. Don\u2019t give up.<\/p>\n

Stay focused and lean and mean on the jam so you increase your chance of success. Don\u2019t reach too far. Don\u2019t scope too large. Better to do to little, and add, then get halfway into Saturday and realize it\u2019s not gonna happen. THE MOST IMPORTANT THING is finishing \u2013 something, anything. A complete work.
