Ludum Dare 24 was my first time entering the compo and I managed to get a simple game entered just in time called Drum Beat Evolution!!!

It’s a colourful Drum Beat Maker with the added twist of never being able to stop or pause, causing the song to evolve as you go along. I was happy to see that it was enjoyed by those who played it. When I saw that it had come in 8th in the category ‘Audio’ I rushed around telling everyone I knew.

When the compo was over I decided that I would port it to iPhone. I didn’t actually know anything about iOS development. My most relevant experience was C. I downloaded XCode and poked around a little bit and was quite intimidated. I purchased ‘Sams Teach yourself iPhone Application Development in 24 hours’ and started going through the lessons and found by the 6th Chapter/Hour I had learned enough to stumble through making the app.

As most will relate to, this really is the start of the dream for me. Making a steady income to support me through making indie games. I do hope to make many more. If you played the entry and own an iPhone or iPad I hope you’ll check it out and help me get it noticed. It seems like the app store is very overpopulated and it’s easy to go unnoticed.
