Well guys, it\u2019s a few days into October, and I\u2019m stuck trying to figure out how my teammate and I are going to make our money. Despite Wonckay and I being only 14, we\u2019ve planned to try and rake in some dough anyway. I think I can send the money through my parents when necessary, but there\u2019s a lot we don\u2019t know about what we\u2019re doing in terms of business. So, I have a few questions for those who are more experienced than I am. We\u2019re in the U.S., and thinking about using either BMTMicro\/another payment service or Desura to sell through. Forgive me if I ask anything stupid or ignorant, but let\u2019s just say I\u2019m not nearly as good with this as I am programming. (And I\u2019m far from perfect with that, too, haha.)<\/p>\n

1) I\u2019m pretty sure that both of the aboved services, to some extent, take out some government taxes before giving you your money. What I\u2019m not sure about is whether or not I\u2019ll have to pay any more taxes after that- would everything be taken care of? Because if there\u2019s one thing I don\u2019t understand, it\u2019s taxes, and I\u2019m hoping they don\u2019t get in the way.\n2) What kind of business license needs to be registered? You have no idea how much research I\u2019ve done on this without getting any solid answers. Sources say everything from \u201cyou don\u2019t need one\u201d to information seemingly meant for physical businesses. So, what do I need, and how should I get it? Will using Desura rather than selling it with BMTMicro make a difference? (You know, since using Desura would make us under another business.)\n3) Is it even smart for us to try and be making money at this age? I know it\u2019s risky, but I\u2019m really hoping we can do it. I\u2019ve seen other people who say that it would be better if the young guys here were to just forget about it, but I\u2019m not so sure. I\u2019d like to try out the commercial thing, you know? So please, don\u2019t just say, \u201cDon\u2019t worry about the money, just have fun, stay in school, hohoho, merry\u00a0Christmas!\u201d (If it\u2019s really that hard, maybe I can just set up a donation system from free to infinity dollars. I would definitely appreciate infinity dollars.)<\/p>\n
