I spent a lot of time during last week going through the entries, playing them, rating and dropping some occasional praising\/scalding\/(maybe)helpful or just random comments. Since I\u2019ve hit 25 percent coolness and I no longer have time to do rating (I originally thought I\u2019ll be already on traditional new year lan party, but I got delayed for a few days before finally declining challenge of Unity Flash to Flash compo<\/a>) I\u2019ve decided to post a list of few games that IMO deserves your attention. <\/p>\n

It\u2019s (in no particular order) a list of some games I\u2019ve rated high enough (4-5) for whatever reason stroke my insane fancy at the moment. I might have missed some from those I\u2019ve rated (and I\u2019m pretty sure I\u2019ve missed some interesting entries in 75% unrated remainder) \u2013 so\u2026 sorry for those of you who were left out \":)\" <\/p>\n

Arzea \u2013 arkeus<\/a> \u2013 one of the nicest platfomers I\u2019ve encountered, with RPG stats, nice art and music, quite playable and with a lot of content. <\/p>\n

Final trip soccer \u2013 Benjamin<\/a> \u2013 one of the biggest surprises\u2026 at first I thought what the hell, soccer sim? For the idea alone this would deserve some high rates \":)\" <\/p>\n

Super Smash Lander Suicide Party, Bro? \u2013 Black Ships Fill the Sky<\/a> \u2013 no link to theme at all\u2026 but very funny and crazy game I enjoyed playing for a while.<\/p>\n

There Can Only Be Static \u2013 cards<\/a> \u2013 very nice \u201cprogrammers\u201d action \/ puzzle-ish game with minimalist art:) I probably wouldn\u2019t put it here (even if it has nice gameplay), but using breaks and speed++ and other stuff appealed to my inside programmers mentality.<\/p>\n

Last breath \u2013 deepnight<\/a> \u2013 platformer puzzle story of lonely dog and his shadow. Interesting gameplay and great visuals.<\/p>\n

alone I art \u2013 Make A Game<\/a> very funny looking \u201cstealth\u201d type game. It gets boring later on, but I enjoyed it a lot.<\/p>\n

Farrokh \u2013 Doktor Ace<\/a> \u2013 gameplay of this running kitten on the moon simulator is pretty simple, but I was awed with the resulting retro \u2013 lowres \u2013 voxel visuals somehow made in Unity.<\/p>\n

ASSAULT THE DARK FORTRESS \u2013 FrankieSmileShow<\/a> \u2013 probably contender for the best LD entry in terms of sheer gameplay, this Zelda clone is one of the games I made copy on my netbook so I can finish it later when bored.<\/p>\n

Space Ghost \u2013 madmaw<\/a> \u2013 At first I looked disbelievingly at the description\u2026 Matlab-esque shooter\u2026 WOT? And after clicking on the link I found out one of the most innovative game I\u2019ve seen in this LD. Yeah, it\u2019s definitely for everyone, target public is pretty small, so if you hate math \/ don\u2019t know what sin(x) is \/ you don\u2019t want to flex your math\/coding skills (or you don\u2019t have any), you probably won\u2019t like it as much as I did.<\/p>\n

Insanely Awesome Physics Saga \u2013 Merrik<\/a> \u2013 platformer which tries (quite successfully) to innovate the gameplay using physics.<\/p>\n

Abandoned \u2013 Noel <\/a> \u2013 I guess enough was said about this innovative puzzle game, but I would feel bad if I wouldn\u2019t list it here.<\/p>\n

Warrior cursed by Loneliness \u2013 Spotlightor <\/a> I really liked this FPS combat simulator\u2026 probably because I wanted to try it exactly this way for some time \":)\" <\/p>\n

\/follow \u2013 01101101<\/a> \u2013 One of the best pixel art in compo, great music, simple but enjoyable gameplay (with several types of it), nice fitting story\u2026 Enough said.<\/p>\n

The Invention of Colour \u2013 bach<\/a> This is one of them entries \u201cnot a game, buddy\u201d, which is really shame, because visuals\/audio\/mood is one of the best. Worth looking at.<\/p>\n

The Chosen \u2013 Balooga03<\/a> Almost same as above\u2026 not much of a gameplay, but wandering around in a strange land was very\u2026 meditative? \":)\" From the aesthetic point of view this is definitely best looking 3d game in compo I\u2019ve seen.<\/p>\n

And then, alone at Epsilon-1 \u2013 eld <\/a> Very good little scifi adventure. It\u2019s short and hacking puzzles could have been better, but it\u2019s one of the few games in compo which feel mostly finished and polished.<\/p>\n

Midas \u2013 Wanderlands<\/a> another \u201chighprofile\u201d game I noticed in the feed, but it\u2019s really deserving your attention.<\/p>\n

Well\u2026 that\u2019s it. See you at next LD.<\/p>\n
