I guess great minds think alike <img src=\"http:\/\/ludumdare.com\/compo\/wp-includes\/images\/smilies\/simple-smile.png\" alt=\":)\" class=\"wp-smiley\" style=\"height: 1em; max-height: 1em;\" \/> Best of luck!","spam":"N"}],"epoch":1272079020,"likes":0,"metadata":{"p_key":"71316","p_author":"ChainedLupine","p_authorkey":"1746","p_urlkey":"107137","p_title":"Finally got an idea","p_cat":"LD #17 - Islands - 2010","p_event":"LD17","p_time":"1272079020","p_likes":"0","p_comments":"1","p_status":"UPD5","us_key":"1746","us_name":"ChainedLupine","us_username":"chainedlupine","event_start":"1271980800","event_key":"3","event_name":"LD17"},"text":"<p>I flounded a bit.\u00a0 I admit, I wasn&#8217;t really prepared for the islands theme.\u00a0 But I think I finally hammered something out that should be A) doable in the time allotted, and B) fun, C) something I can code up easily.<\/p>\n <p style=\"text-align: center\">\n <p style=\"text-align: left\">The idea is that you are a volcano god.\u00a0 A jealous one.\u00a0 (Is there any other?)\u00a0 You&#8217;ve got your happy little islands, filled with worshiping natives, but then you become aware that some other miscreants on OTHER islands are worshiping another volcano god.\u00a0 This will not do!<\/p>\n <p style=\"text-align: left\">Here&#8217;s my concept screenshot:<\/p>\n <p style=\"text-align: left\"><img class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-16862\" src=\"http:\/\/www.ludumdare.com\/compo\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/04\/concept-screenshot-550x412.png\" alt=\"concept-screenshot\" width=\"550\" height=\"412\" srcset=\"http:\/\/ludumdare.com\/compo\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/04\/concept-screenshot-300x225.png 300w, http:\/\/ludumdare.com\/compo\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/04\/concept-screenshot-550x412.png 550w, http:\/\/ludumdare.com\/compo\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/04\/concept-screenshot.png 640w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 550px) 100vw, 550px\" \/><\/p>\n <p style=\"text-align: left\">So, it&#8217;s time you start putting all that worship energy to good use &#8212; by launching fireballs at the other god&#8217;s islands!\u00a0 Every time you hit one island, you kill some of the natives, but also knock off a few who then swim to nearby islands.\u00a0 This increases the worship power coming from a single island (allowing the god to fire it faster), but if all islands are sunk, the other god is out of the game.\u00a0 Who wants a god that nobody is left alive to worship?<\/p>\n <p style=\"text-align: left\">Well, okay, it sounds simple and maybe a little stupid, but it&#8217;s the best I&#8217;ve seen.\u00a0 Props to Ember for giving me the idea!\u00a0 Anyway, it&#8217;ll be fun coding all those little native behaviors!<\/p>","time":"April 23rd, 2010 10:17 pm","title":"Finally got an idea"}
