It would use most or all of the following tools:<\/p>\n <p>Code:<br \/>\n Python\/Pygame<br \/>\n <a href=\"http:\/\/code.google.com\/p\/pgu\/\">PGU<\/a><br \/>\n vim<\/p>\n <p>Visuals:<br \/>\n GIMP<br \/>\n pen and paper<br \/>\n possibly some procedural content as well<\/p>\n <p>Sound:<br \/>\n sfxr<br \/>\n <a href=\"http:\/\/zynaddsubfx.sourceforge.net\/\">ZynSubAddFX<\/a><br \/>\n <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hydrogen-music.org\/\">Hydrogen<\/a><br \/>\n Audacity<\/p>\n <p>Having only written very small (no more than 500 LOC) tools in Python, I&#8217;m far more comfortable with C++, but I figure it&#8217;d be easier to avoid cross platform hassle this way as I&#8217;ll be developing on Arch and occasionally Ubuntu.  Plus, with PyWeek 11 starting up this weekend as well, I figure I could jump straight into it from here.<\/p>\n <p>P. S.  Despite the awkward name, if you haven&#8217;t tried ZynSubAddFX, you&#8217;re missing out.  If I have time to add more than sound effects, it&#8217;ll come from this.  I doubt I&#8217;ll have time to add Hydrogen into the mix, or require the services of Audacity, but I list them just in case.<\/p>","time":"August 18th, 2010 9:17 am","title":"No promises"}
