{"author_name":"NiallM","cat":"LD  #18 - Enemies as Weapons - 2010","comments":[],"epoch":1282916160,"likes":0,"metadata":{"p_key":"69230","p_author":"NiallM","p_authorkey":"785","p_urlkey":"105033","p_title":"The Lair of Fungal Wonder Post-compo Version","p_cat":"LD  #18 - Enemies as Weapons - 2010","p_event":"LD18","p_time":"1282916160","p_likes":"0","p_comments":"0","p_status":"UPD5","us_key":"785","us_name":"NiallM","us_username":"niallm","event_start":"1282262400","event_key":"4","event_name":"LD18"},"text":"<p>Since a couple of issues with the random number generator conspired to make the game a little harder than it needed to be, I&#8217;ve done a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.niallmoody.com\/games.htm#TheLairOfFungalWonder\">post-compo version<\/a> of the game.\u00a0 The changes are:<\/p>\n <ul>\n <li>Altered fungi generation to always leave a gap for the player to get through.<\/li>\n <li>Altered fungi generation to ensure the full range of fungus types appear within a reasonable timeframe.<\/li>\n <li>Weighted weapon toadstools to appear mostly on the front of the ship.<\/li>\n <li>Added menu to the title screen.<\/li>\n <li>Added easy mode (less ship inertia, less frequent (and not intensifying) spores, less frequent boulders).<\/li>\n <\/ul>\n <p>And I&#8217;ve also uploaded a couple of videos of me playing through the game (spoilers, obv.):<\/p>\n <p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=AVQmna00KB8\">Peaceful playthrough<\/a><\/p>\n <p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=f5KflLARGZc\">Destructive playthrough<\/a><\/p>\n <p>They&#8217;re slightly jittery because I had a hard time finding a screen recorder that actually worked. Fraps, camstudio, and taksi were all far too slow; I wound up using gtk-record-my-desktop on Linux (which I have on a different partition on the same machine, so it&#8217;s not a hardware issue).<\/p>","time":"August 27th, 2010 8:36 am","title":"The Lair of Fungal Wonder Post-compo Version"}
