This will be my second Ludum Dare entry, last contest I entered but didn’t quite finish in time so I am here to redeem myself. 😛 Also to have fun and drink lot’s of caffeine!

Tools

Eclipse/Java: I will again be coding in Java.

LWJGL: I will be using LWJGL for access to OpenGL. I will also be using a few utility classes from the SlickUtil package, a subset of the Slick game engine. This is only used for loading textures and displaying text (texture font system).

Personal Code Library: A few general classes I have put together. Handles 2D sprites, animations, some basic transition stuff and a semi-usable tile map setup. There is also a base class for the basic game loop, java applet setup, etc. Not sure how much I will reuse for Ludum Dare 22, the tile map may get ignored depending on the theme that gets chosen and the game concept I go with. Some of the other stuff I think will be useful though.

Paint.NET / Inkscape: Will be using these programs for artwork.
