I can&#8217;t say I&#8217;ve ever made a &#8220;finished&#8221; game, mostly because my ideas get so ambitious and I don&#8217;t have the skills to polish something. My art skills are lacking and I&#8217;ve never attempted to create music or sound effects before. I figure having a time limit will force me to focus on making a game that looks and sounds decent while hopefully having some fun gameplay. Leading up to the competition I&#8217;ll be familiarizing myself with the awesome tools that I&#8217;ve seen recommended.<\/p>\n <p>Tools of the trade:<\/p>\n <p>Language: XNA 4.0<\/p>\n <p>Sound Effects: sfxr (played around with it a little bit &#8211; very easy to make good sounds with)<\/p>\n <p>Graphics: Paint.net, Pickle, and PyxelEdit (Playing around with all of these, each have their uses)<\/p>\n <p>I&#8217;ve wanted to code something for a while but couldn&#8217;t think of what, LD is just the kick in the pants I need.<\/p>","time":"April 18th, 2012 8:49 pm","title":"Jumping into the deep end"}
