{"author_name":"Kom","cat":"LD #23","comments":[],"epoch":1334958000,"likes":0,"metadata":{"p_key":"58608","p_author":"Kom","p_authorkey":"12552","p_urlkey":"94357","p_title":"Here goes nothing","p_cat":"LD #23","p_event":"LD23","p_time":"1334958000","p_likes":"0","p_comments":"0","p_status":"UPD5","us_key":"12552","us_name":"Kom","us_username":"mokkom","event_start":"1334880000","event_key":"10","event_name":"LD23"},"text":"<p>This will be my first time competing in LD48, and my first time trying to make a game with a decent degree of seriousness and motivation.\u00a0 I have a college assignment to finish before I start getting really prepared, though.<\/p>\n <p>Programming competitions are no new thing to me, I&#8217;ve participated in plenty during my time here at college, but to me, writing applications to show knowledge of an algorithm or a concept is quite different than game development.\u00a0 I have no professional or formal experience with developing games, it&#8217;s all basically what I&#8217;ve collected from the internet and my own observations over the years.<\/p>\n <p>I&#8217;ve worked on a number of projects, and completed some of the smaller ones (especially ones done as assignments).\u00a0 To be honest, I have a hard time motivating myself, and forming reasonable goals for me to accomplish, and because of that, I&#8217;ve never finished a game.\u00a0 Usually the ideas I have a too large a scope for me to accomplish alone feasibly.<\/p>\n <p>I&#8217;m not looking to get noticed, and I&#8217;m not confident that I&#8217;ll make anything good, but I&#8217;m hoping that I&#8217;ll be able to gauge where I am as a developer, and that I can possibly figure out where I need to improve.<\/p>","time":"April 20th, 2012 4:40 pm","title":"Here goes nothing"}
