Slick is *really* nice and you can mostly follow along the tutorials translating Java to Clojure. The only problems I had with it was it’s not REPL-friendly. So I wasn’t able to start the game loop, then re-evaluate functions in emacs and have the game change live. That’s a disappointment if you’re used to Clojure programming having such a fast feedback loop.
\n LWJGL was similar except there’s less game abstractions available so you end up doing more work.
\n With both (well they both involve LWGJL) you need to native libraries for things to work and that can be annoying with Clojure (but not that difficult to sort out).","spam":"N"}],"epoch":1345561860,"likes":1,"metadata":{"p_key":"55176","p_author":"Tofu_Casserole","p_authorkey":"5132","p_urlkey":"90894","p_title":"I am in","p_cat":"LD #24","p_event":"LD24","p_time":"1345561860","p_likes":"1","p_comments":"1","p_status":"UPD5","us_key":"5132","us_name":"Tofu_Casserole","us_username":"tofu_casserole","event_start":"1345766400","event_key":"12","event_name":"LD24"},"text":"
This is my third LD. The first one I didn’t finish. The second one I decided I didn’t have time to do because of schoolwork. Third time’s the charm. Will be using Pygame most likely, Clojure with LWJGL if I can get it to work in a warmup game. Also going to use GIMP, sfxr, Audiotool, and my guitar.
