XNA

I am still not sure attend or not to attend. The skill to build a game in 48h. is something special, some training could not harm.

If i attend i’ll use xna, but how should i pack the game? User needs xna redist and .net framework, so xna is defenitiv not the best choice for LD. But i can not learn SDL in 3 days so good, to make a game in 48h. So swiching a programming language is a bad idea.

Otherwise i loose nothing :-)

I think i should see some xna-LD-games, how they deal with this problem?

You can use XNA if you want… you get less reviews but… I think changing the language/engine for a competition is a bad choice. Use these things you like most and just enjoy the competition.

P.S.

I think there is one more way to pack XNA game:

– if user have .NET, but don’t have xna redist, it could be enough just to add some DLLs from redist into game zip. But i think it’s actually prohibited by license.
