Well..  this sucks.   My computer is crashing pretty hard-core.   I’ve isolated the problem to something fishy with my USB slots and now have everything plugged into the front of my computer.   I may have temporarily neutralized the problem,  but now I have a fresh desktop install with a new operating system and none of my dev tools installed.  Bah-hum-bug, this sucks.
