I credit all the work I did getting the world structure setup so I can listen to tunes and make a ton of levels.</p>\n <p><a href=\"http://www.ludumdare.com/compo/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/beforelighting.png\"><img class=\"size-medium wp-image-264088 aligncenter\" alt=\"beforelighting\" src=\"http://www.ludumdare.com/compo/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/beforelighting-300x214.png\" width=\"300\" height=\"214\" srcset=\"http://ludumdare.com/compo/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/beforelighting-300x214.png 300w, http://ludumdare.com/compo/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/beforelighting-550x393.png 550w, http://ludumdare.com/compo/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/beforelighting.png 976w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" /></a></p>\n <p>I&#8217;ve got 1000 ideas floating around in my head but I don&#8217;t want to miss the basics. I decided to tackle lighting this morning, and it took five minutes:</p>\n <p><a href=\"http://www.ludumdare.com/compo/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/afterlighting.png\"><img class=\"size-medium wp-image-264090 aligncenter\" alt=\"afterlighting\" src=\"http://www.ludumdare.com/compo/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/afterlighting-300x214.png\" width=\"300\" height=\"214\" srcset=\"http://ludumdare.com/compo/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/afterlighting-300x214.png 300w, http://ludumdare.com/compo/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/afterlighting-550x393.png 550w, http://ludumdare.com/compo/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/afterlighting.png 976w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" /></a></p>\n <p>It&#8217;s not the best but it looks better! Plus I can try having each of the bulbs emit light (I&#8217;ll just disable pathfinding is that cool?).</p>\n <p><strong>Sanojian</strong> mentioned: &#8220;Could it be that after 30-odd failed games it starts to get easier?&#8221; Yes! A ghostyard of abandoned projects on my hard drive has finally shown some value.</p>\n <p><a href=\"http://www.ludumdare.com/compo/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/title1.png\"><img class=\"aligncenter\" alt=\"title\" src=\"http://www.ludumdare.com/compo/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/title1-300x214.png\" width=\"300\" height=\"214\" /></a></p>\n <p>Little touches like, oh, <strong>the frontend</strong> are things I pass off while I&#8217;m fighting with flocking and hierarchical pathfinding. I just refuse to make another tech-heavy fun-light game. We&#8217;ll see how it goes.</p>", "time": "July 28th, 2013 10:14 am", "title": "Home Stretch"}
