So my first ludum dare didn’t go very well…

So I spent most of the weekend working on an idea involving a clock face with ten segments, one for each second, which need to be rearranged to fit together. I ran into a lot of bugs mainly due to my lack of experience with javascript and paper.js, so I scrapped it about 6 hours ago and started fresh. Here’s a screenshot of what I was working on…

game

I got there in the end with about 5 hours work and have a very basic game that’s playable. The idea is to control the blue circle by clicking and dragging the mouse, (it follows the cursor position) and make it avoid the red circle. The red circle moves around slowly at random if it can’t get a clear line of sight to the blue circle, so you can hid on or around the black safe areas. If the red circle sees you, it will move towards very quickly and you will need to hide.

You start off with 10 seconds, and can increase this number by collecting the green time power-ups. These also give a small temporary speed boost. Here’s the link if anyone’s interested in trying, hope it’s going better for everyone else!!!

Cheers
