4 hours worth of art

3.5 hours were spent drawing faces I didn’t like.

Richie Rich grew up and became a popcorn magnate?

And now I’m going to respond to the time management lecture I’m giving myself in my head.

Yes, 4 hours was a lot of time to spend on drawing a head that’s going to be shrunk down to pixel art. Yes I know there are only 17 hours before I have to get this thing published. Yes I know coding isn’t done.

But you know what? That was all necessary. I had no idea what this game was going to look like before now, and now that I know, the minimum viable art is going to come together very quickly. This look will influence the tone of the game and the feel of the game. This little chibi swirly-haired man man defines the game. And those other 7 or 8 directions I went in and then abandoned? They are useful too. They define what the game isn’t.

(Also, the break from coding gave the coding part of my brain time to figure out how to organize some data structures and stuff. I told it to take a break, but it didn’t want to.)
