Overall I had lots of fun and I will certainly participate in the next Ludum Dare.<\/p>\n <p>I combined the snowman theme with the official theme &#8220;Entire Game on One Screen&#8221; by making a fixed camera. At first I wanted to let it snow snowballs, but this wasn&#8217;t working as I imagined it, because of the screen format there wasn&#8217;t so much vertical space, so I came up with the idea to place snowcannons in the world.<\/p>\n <p><strong>What went right:<\/strong><\/p>\n <ul>\n <li>Art style<\/li>\n <li>Game idea<\/li>\n <li>Sound and music\u00a0 (my first time making music for a game)<\/li>\n <\/ul>\n <p><strong>What I could improve:<\/strong><\/p>\n <ul>\n <li>Build Size (I will build a version of UE4 without unneeded parts next time)<\/li>\n <li>GUI &#8211; next LD I will add a proper menu with difficulty-selection,..<\/li>\n <li>More variation in gameplay<\/li>\n <\/ul>\n <p><strong>What I will do different next time:<\/strong><\/p>\n <ul>\n <li>UE4 is a very fast toolkit for gamejams, so next time I will try something bigger, like a small RPG<\/li>\n <\/ul>\n <h2 style=\"text-align: center\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000\"><a style=\"color: #ff0000;text-decoration: underline\" title=\"Play Game - The Snowman and the Cannons\" href=\"http:\/\/ludumdare.com\/compo\/ludum-dare-31\/?action=preview&amp;uid=44885http:\/\/\"><strong>Play Game &#8211; The Snowman and the Cannons<\/strong><\/a><\/span><\/h2>\n <p style=\"text-align: center\"><em>How to play:<\/em><\/p>\n <p style=\"text-align: center\"><em>Try to save the snowman by dodging the snowballs (Controlls: Left\/Right or a\/d and spacebar for jumping)<br \/>\n <\/em><\/p>\n <p><img class=\"decoded aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/ludumdare.com\/compo\/wp-content\/compo2\/407933\/44885-shot0.jpg\" alt=\"http:\/\/ludumdare.com\/compo\/wp-content\/compo2\/407933\/44885-shot0.jpg\" width=\"525\" height=\"307\" \/><\/p>","time":"December 9th, 2014 11:55 am","title":"Finished my first Ludum Dare Game"}
