Take care of yourself, no jam is worth more than your health! Sleep and eat well

For #LDJam or any other jam or hackathon: never go without sleep & don't eat junk food or drink energy drinks. Keep your normal routine - sleep well, eat well and don't mess up your sleep with energy drinks.

Unfortunately after 13 years participating in Ludum Dare it's still normal to see "I didn't sleep" posts here and on Twitter, Mastodon, etc - this is not cool!

It's not worth it, since after the jam you are going to be wasted and long term there are huge health impacts.

Good, you earned 1-2 additional hours of real accounted productive work, while risking yourself for a health attack when not sleeping and drinking energy drinks. Is it worth it? In exchange of what? A few more Ludum Dare votes?

This is not a drill nor a joke. My daddy passed away due to that kind of crazy routine, for 20 yrs he stayed awake almost every Fri-Sun to edit his videos to deliver to a TV channel Sunday mornings (he had an independent TV Fishing Show in Brazil), then amongst other things, he had a heart attack 2x.

So no game jam is worth that :pray:
