Another Ludum Dare another challenge
We love making games, but we're also sort of novices. Our first ever LD (and serious gamejam for that matter) was back for LD50 last year. We've learned a ton from the past projects, but we love to learn new things. So for this issue we wanted to really challenge ourselves in a new way. We've kind of found a system for making 2D games in such a short time span, but this time we decided to take in to a whole other level, I mean dimension, I mean...
For our game Don't let them bug you we decided to step into the world of meshes, 3d modelling, texturing, UV mapping, and materials. And I have to say, I'm proud of what we were able to make. Sure it's not perfect and there is so much more work we wanted to have done. But the core is there and with the low-poly approach and simple coloring of most faces you can really create a nice atmosphere without having to dabble too deep into all of the complexities for which AAA-studios hire whole teams.
If you can find the time to play our little game by trying to ward off all those pesky little bugs please do so and feel free to leave us some feedback. Compliments, but also tips or remarks are highly encouraged, please let us know!
