Calling It Early
Welp, I've never done this before, but I'm calling it. My game just isn't where I wanted it to be at this point, and there's only a few hours left.
A few things contributed to this: - The obligatory "I don't like the theme". It's true though, I only had two or three ideas for this jam and didn't really love any of them. - I switched from a platform game to a top-down game early on, but didn't realize that this meant that the code for the enemies had to be a lot more interesting. - I didn't consider that I'd have to draw humanoid players from the front perspective, and I just put that off indefinitely. Everyone is rectangles forever now. - I wasn't ready for the new time. Previously, LD started at 9:00 pm locally, which I vastly preferred. I didn't start until I was done with work on Friday, and losing the last six hours on Sunday really hurts. Next time I guess I'll take Friday off.
