Logs of a Failure

Well, this is just me venting out to people who most likely will understand just for the sake of trying to feel better.

For context I have been programming for about 2 years now with no formal studies and very little spare time in hand due to my day-job and other stuff. I love making games for the creative process, since it envolves nice graphics, beautiful music, a story-line and envolving gameplay. It is like the best creative expression I can find.

However this year on this ludum dare I got really mentally blocked when making the game. With little time to make it (since I had to work all weekend) I got frustrated and couldnt muster to test the game or even look after mistakes or anything to be honest. I really felt like I wanted to publish something, to at least prove to myself I still got it in me. The game isnt a huge mess or a huge pile of %"/@... but it is worse than most of the games I have made. Also I dont really know how to fix it, which frustrates me more. I do need to learn more but sometimes it is hard.

I do feel like just leaving the game behind and forgetting it, however one of my favourite games has tought me something: "Stay determined"(From Understale) and I will try during this week to make a proper playable game, for me at least.

In the end, if anyone reads this. Keep trying and keep persevering, not always it is easy. Well that concludes my venting to other creative people like you guys.
