Lessons Learned

So it's been a couple weeks since my first ever Ludum Dare experience, and I got to say, I learned a few things that will be helpful for myself in the future.

Firstly, I think that accessibility it crucial since it actually let's the players play your game. I screwed up with my canvas size in my Unity project, and so the game could only be played on one screen size, which is my screen size. It also meant that the game had to be played on full screen, and couldn't be played on the small WebGL window. I will keep that in mind when developing my entry for LD49.

Secondly, focusing on more user friendly aspects might be helpful, rather than polishing everything right away. I think that polishing could be used to make things more user friendly, but I think when designing the concept for my game, user friendliness should be a key thing to remember.

Thirdly, I think a great soundtrack and sound effects can really tie a game together, and I feel I missed the mark on that one this time around.

If you've taken the time to read this lengthy thought, I appreciate your time, and if you wouldn't mind leaving your own lessons you've learned this time around, or even previous LD's in the comments for some nice advice, that would be great!

I hope everyone had a great time, and I will be looking forward to participating next LD.

P.S, don't forget to check out my LD48 entry, BLU, You won't regret it!!!
