I've also done two Ludum Dare compos, [Vertico](https:\/\/ultimatewalrus.com\/#vertico) and [Dehumanizer](https:\/\/ultimatewalrus.com\/#dehumanizer). Vertico [did pretty well in the compo](https:\/\/ludumdata.openfu.com\/game\/18845), and I really enjoyed the competitive aspect!\n\nHowever, this time will be a bit different! Part of the reason I've had such a long hiatus was because I was determined to find a better way to make games. I will be entering this jam with a **game engine and programming language that I made myself**.\n\nThe \"jam\" started on Monday for me, when I started frantically preparing my tools. They will likely hinder rather than help me, because it's all in a very raw and early state. Maybe I'll even fail to produce anything playable! But we'll see. I haven't been this creative in a while, and I think it'll be really good for me.\n\nTo add a potential additional handicap, I just received my second Pfizer vaccine, which is supposed to be a doozy! But I'm incredibly grateful to have been able to get it, nonetheless.\n\nFor these reasons, I'll be participating in the Jam, not the compo.
