Ended up causing it to be in a continual loop of menus with no escape, all the while still being able to control the character.\nAfter spending all day trying to find the problem I made (and having a quick nap after checking thee same things over and over) I finally fixed it. Unfortunately this took away some time I wanted to spend setting up the map.
