During my LD-brainstorm I came up with "Keeping an idea alive" as one of my possible games. When fleshing different ideas out, this one had a leg up because the way I would do it would involve webscraping, something I haven't tried before. It seemed pretty straightforward but after I submitted the game it turned out it didn't work for 90% of people ( see the zero score and full (7) lives above). This was very frustrating but in the end I found the bug was due to the different way countries seperate digits larger than a thousand e.g. 321,000 or 321.000. This was five days after submission and it would've taken me way longer if it wasn't for https://ldjam.com/users/trexxak and https://ldjam.com/users/goutye helping me debug a bug I didn't have myself.
