A simple platformer that I made, there are 3 levels.
You are a dog with a moustache that needs to complete levels and give me stuff to build a car.
Just like the 30's.
Long weird story at the beginning. (Don't ask about it, I was to tired).
Game by Tom .K. age 12.

Also, its nice to see that you made a complete game at 12, I'm 13 and I've bee programming for some time :D
The gameplay was surprisingly difficult as it looks deceptively simple.
Animations and more sound would have been nice, but still a nice little game.
Also, all that work at 12 is very very impressive, well done!
Have to say the wonderful sound effects were the best part :)
And then I added 3 SFX when you finish a level, when you die, and when you step on the ground.
I wanted to add more but suddenly my mic recorded in very low quality so I couldn't record anymore SFX.
I'm still trying to clear the 2nd stage. Good game.
The self recorded sound effects added a cool personal touch to the game.
At some places I didn't see where I was supposed to go next so to fix it I suggest to scale the game to make the oncoming platforms more visible or to add a minimap.
Overall enjoyed the experience. 8/10
overall i quite enjoy the game, solide entry :)
Got stuck on level 3.
Mishak sababa!
I know that it's hard and there are collision glitches and blind jumps because of the bad camera follow. That's because LD36 is the first time I ever made a good game with actual collision and camera follow so I have no experience.
Much game. Very fun. wow
(I gave up after ~100 tries of level 2)
Also, at least as far as I could tell, the only "Ancient technology" was the crack about it in the intro.
Still, just completing a game is something to be proud of. Here's to getting better all the time.
And when I'm holding the jump button while under a platform, he just doesn't give up.
I got to the end in 77 seconds the first time I played, or so the game tells me. There were times when I really wanted to look lower or further than the camera would let me, but other than that, it was fun.
1. A better camera control.
2. An easier game.
3. No blind jumps.
4. Using only "You" And not "U".
5. More SFX.
6. Sprite animations.
7. Make the player less fast.
P.S
3 hours before the end of LD compo I wanted to add a patifon
Your portrait is very realistic :)
Gameplay wise, many obstacles are out of sight and i can't get to see where my doggy is head :)
Nice stache!
(almost 4 minutes)
I used to make games like this when I was 12. :P
Anyway, it's a decent game, but the dog could use some animation. Maybe add some music. Also, the levels felt a bit empty because I had to go across open air. Maybe add grass or something 20ish blocks down to make it feel like the player is on floating islands. :3
In my next game NO BLIND JUMP.
