Floppy Defense by Anathema Studio
Viruses crawl out of the serial ports and race along the copper traces of your motherboard towards the CPU. Insert floppy disks into the free drive bays — ANTIVIRUS, FIREWALL and DEFRAG — paying with your precious kilobytes of memory. Upgrade them from v1.0 to v3.0, keep the chips cool by clicking the CPU fan, and survive 10 waves including the infamous MELISSA.DOC and ILOVEYOU.VBS. If CPU integrity hits 0%… A fatal exception 0E has occurred.
- 3 floppies with 3 versions each, 4 viruses + 2 bosses, 10 waves + Endless mode
- BIOS boot, DOS prompt, Win9x shutdown screen and a very authentic Blue Screen Of Death
- Every model, texture, sound effect and song is generated in code (dial-up modem handshake included)
- Desktop and mobile, English and Italian
Controls
- Click/tap a drive bay: insert a floppy (keys 1/2/3)
- Click/tap a floppy: upgrade (U), sell (S), targeting
- Space: start the wave early (bonus KB) · F: speed x2 · P/Esc: pause · M: mute
- Click the CPU fan when a chip overheats
Compo Notes
All art and audio created during the 48 hours; a few generic helpers adapted from my own earlier projects (see README). Everything is generated procedurally in code. Tools/libraries: three.js, Vite, Web Audio API. Source code: https://github.com/N-THEM-Studio/floppy-defense
