Demons in Dungeons II by blay09

[raw]
made by blay09 for LD33 (JAM)
While humanity was doing fun stuff that included laughing and singing and happiness, the evil forces of the abyss have been working their hardest to destroy the world. After their first attempt failed, the humans felt offended by it, and decided to strike back. This time, they have opened up portals to the underworld and are trying to break your heart. Literally.

Place traps and kill everyone. Break crystals and stop them from moving in. Do both at the same time and you'll probably win. Just make sure that your dungeon does not get destroyed. You will notice a pulsating Dungeon Heart which keeps the underworld alive. Take care of it and your master will be very proud of you. That's all.

Controls:

Interesting idea for a tower defense mixed with a platformer! Love it. And although you didn't make all the content yourself, it certainly fits well and is presented well together.

Fun little game. Blocks are a little buggy. I managed to get myself trapped inside the walls. But it's a cleverly designed little game. Nice work!

-wall jumping is hard, I had trouble getting past the first area
-can't right click in unity web, eventually figured out that alt is kick
-you don't need to be near blocks to break them
-graphic styles dont mix, some is pixel art, some is like renders
-took me a while to figure out what to do on level 2
-was cool when hoards of enemies started attacking
-enemies had trouble getting to the dungeon heart
-i tried to let enemies kill me but they don't attack
-got really laggy towards the end and almost unplayble, my pc is pretty powerful so not sure whats causing it
-eventually figured out that im supposed to go down and destroy enemy crystals
- I didn't do anything to protect the heart other then place a few traps
- I destroyed the enemy crystals and won, success!

Overall I liked this game, I didn't really find it innovative but that's okay too, the gameplay is fun but a little repetitive, it suits the theme perfectly, I really like the art and audio but I didn't think you did enough to set the mood. Overall good entry, well done.

Great game. I got so overrun with enemies though! xD

Keep up the great work!

Also if you did not make the graphics opt it out in the preferences of your project page!

Good idea! This could become a really nice game with towers, traps, talents and different abilities! But right now there are some issues, like other comments suggested. So keep working! :)

Probably just my lack of skills, but I couldn't get wall jumping to work so I was just stuck in the first area!

I got stuck in the walls too. Happened while creating stairs. I think I tried adding a block over the character which probably pushed him into the floor. I would have liked some background music while playing. Otherwise, game was still fun to play.
