It's an interesting game, I like the visual style, it would be cool if there were more interactions with the finds.

Hey, this game was a lot of fun, but incredibly hard to get through it, especially on your first try. The graphics were great, the humour was amazing and the music was very nice and upbeat. The only bug I noticed was that the c14 device didn't really work when positioned right on top of the artifact - I had to move it around a bit to find a place for it to work.

Cool game! I've always loved history and mythology. As a kid, I even dreamed of becoming an archaeologist!

Would be great if there was a certain randomness to the artifacts so you cant just speedrun it by memorizing all of them 🤔... also the timer is cruuuel 😭, but other then that, great job!!! ^^ 👍

Prior to playing I thought this would be a mining game, but nope. It's a completely different game, it gives me Phasmophobia vibes, so good job with that!

I think my biggest crit here is the bobbing of the books and the wand was really distracting. That said, it wasn't bad for a couple runs!

So tried the game again and found the arrow to decide if fake or real.

Game played a lot better LOL.

Not sure what made something fake and made something real, but the game was interesting

Thanks for the play.

It's a nice idea! I was struggling with the C14 tool though. I couldn't seem to get it to work on the artifacts which made the game a little frustrating at times.

Love the innovation! Thinking about it from an operational standpoint, maybe you can think about how we can look at an artifact through a magnifying glass and rotate it at the same time. Right now I have to drag and drop the magnifier again every time I turn it.Really good job!

I love the originality from this game. The art was awesome; the ability to observe the objects was great, and I love the newspaper/tabloid aesthetic.

In terms of gameplay, I feel like the fact that everything was on a time limit hurt the game more than it helped. I wanted to take my time looking at the different artifacts, but I felt rushed by the music and the time limit counting down and wasn't able to appreciate things as much as I wanted. In the end I just ended up memorizing which artifacts were real or fake and speed running through it.

Overall, this was awesome. This would be a super relaxing game to sit back and simulate being an archaeologist. I love the presentation, good job guys!

@mattpopa Thank you for such a thoughtful comment! I'm really happy you enjoyed the art and the newspaper — that means a lot. Totally get what you’re saying about the time pressure; finding the right balance between tension and calm observation is tricky, your feedback really helps us reflect on that.

This is a really cool game!

I really like the revision of the Papers Please concept, although I would really like to spend more time in archeology, although I understand that a jam game should have some kind of challenge :D

Images, sound, gameplay - everything is done at a very competent level, you have a very cool presentation!

Whoa, serious innovation points here, this is very unique!

I do think there was a bit of conflict between the timer mechanic rushing us, and the in-depth research wanting us to take our time and fully explore. I'd be interested to see if the game feels even more fun if it leaned into just one category, rushed or chill.

Fun game with a nice presentation and it feels good to interact with. I was a little confused at first whether or not I was identifying correctly. Some green text for "correct" responses might help. Overall nice work!

@mhorth thank you for your suggestion! Yes the time mechanic makes the game difficult cause we want more challenge for the player, but obviously almost everyone said the time is too short, we'll consider your guys' advice and develop further(if we have time :)), thank you anyway to play the game

Very impressive amount of detail and polish in so little time! Handling the 3d objects in the web browser was a nice touch. I wish the end screen had a better breakdown of how well you did each time, but otherwise, I have no complaints. Very very impressive. Pretty funny too.

Really great visual style! Reminds me of Papers Please with the timer and checking details as fast as possible. One small inconsistency i found was that the C14 Detector gave a different number each time if you used it one the same artifact multiple times, tough thats really just a nitpick. Great work and thanks for the game!

Very interesting interpretation of the theme: the depth of archaeological excavations. I enjoyed rotating the vases and matching them with the descriptions from the manual. Great job!

Nice game. And pretty. It seems hard at first, but it got easier once I grokked the gameplay. The items always appear in the same places and layer so you can actually memorize which one is fake and which isn't. Some randomization of the items between layers and their position would prevent that.

I wish the sounds would tell whether I was right or wrong instead of having to rely on the text below.

And what's with the scanner? It doesn't seem to do anything and there are enough clues without it anyway.

That was a cool idea, though it seems to end up more as a game of memorisation rather than investigation.
I don't feel the time pressure worked well either as it encouraged just memorising the sequence.
I would have liked to be able to put the item back down and examined the other artefacts before making a decision.

Very nice take on the theme. I think I would have preferred if it was not timed. In its current state you can't really properly analyze every detail and do the job of detecting why some object would be real or fake. It took me 3 runs (and partly memorizing which ones were real and which ones weren't) to win!

The visuals are amazing, the 3d objects look very good, and the overall layout felt very nice!

The music is kinda fun, very groovy, it adds some good mood to your game!

Nice job!
