I guess I'm not skilled enough to swim in a straight way :)
I laughed a lot, cause it was so funny to try it out. I totally now what you meant with the controls but I could not manage it :D
Maybe a little more polishing could make a very interessting game out of it.

This game remind me of my time on a canoe! I was dying of laughter paddling in a circle never getting anywhere. I managed to get to the coffer. I thought, that's it I know how to swim ! I don't know if the coffer add some weight or is it just that I can't swim but I never managed to get out!

10/7 would swim again

I went back at it, I managed to get out of the water and swim in the air! I finally reached the boat! Great success

Really interesting control scheme. I didn't get how to swim at first, but then I realized I could paddle with each hand and it all made sense. Really like the minimalist visuals. The underwater sounds are great, they give the game a cool atmosphere.

I think the idea is not to mash buttons vigorously but press them rather rhythmically, like actual swimming... Great art work, pretty cool!

I love this game. It feels like an underwater qwop in some way.

Cool swimming mechanics! Three notes on it:

1. its very easy to lose control of it if I use one arm too many times.
2. i got stuck a bit (but managed to get out last second).
3. I swam out of the ocean to the air (that was a bit funny).

For some reason, [Space] does not work if I want to restart a game (I had to reload the page).

Keep up a good work!

I couldn't figure out the swimming mechanics, it felt a little like ocean qwop lol.

Loved the pixelated rgb-blur sort of effects, kind of nostalgic!

And I thought the way the person just kind of Joumped into the water (possibly hitting the diving board) and spun around helplessly in the water was hilarious :)

Good job! I like the music and laid-back feeling that the game has. I found it hard to control the diver but it was fun nonetheless. :)

Cool one, liked the vibe with the sounds and pixelated look! Controls where quite tough but it was fun to learn

I flew up into the air and nearly drowned while caught on the upper side of the boat, but managed to save it in time. It's very fun in the qwop sort of way where the little dude flails around in circles while you mash buttons, confidently screaming "I GOT THIS," and fail horribly.

Very cool game. I really like your music and audio. It gives the game a chill, tranquil vibe that goes well with swimming in a vast, empty ocean. Your swimming mechanics are unique and cool. They're challenging to get a hold of, but the fact that I was sucking at it felt more like a skill issue on my end, so well done. I didn't even come close to getting the treasure back on the boat, but I enjoyed my attempts to swim and got eaten by a shark, so 10/10!!!

Neat little game, I guess that I wasn't in the right mindset

The first time I got eaten by the shark, the second time I got the treasure but tried to get back on the boat and got stuck on it (haven't seen the ladder), and the third time I got stuck perfectly vertically on the bottom of the screen, and couldn't get out before running out of oxygen.

But once I got hand of it, the swimming felt rewarding and I liked the touch that once you get the chest, the physics change to show that the chest is heavy.

Nice work !

Whoa, I got flashbacks to QWOP! :)

The controls feel like they have a fair logic to them, but finding it is the real challenge! It was fun though. Sometimes I got stuck on the bottom of the sea, facing down and had to restart. Took me more than half a dozen attempts to get to the boat. And then I was *on* the boat, not at the ladder, and had to get off again first, haha.

For 3.5 hours, well done!

Haha getting stuck upside down was both frustrating and really funny. Impressive work for 3.5 hours, the controls are pretty unique. It's one of those games that finding out how to do things is half the journey. It reminded me of getting over it and human fall flat, in a way. Very fun game. Good job!

Very physics-y feel to the swimming controls. It's a challenge for sure. I was able to get the treasure but found it difficult to get back. Thanks for the game!

Made in LESS THAN FOUR HOURS?! Well, that's impressive :D I drowned again an again. Gave me QWOP vibes for sure :) Awesome job

What a fun little game! Very 'foddian' - I only wish my carpal tunnel let me play it for longer. Perhaps a 'press and hold' rather than 'mash' control next time? Regardless - very fun - would love to see what this game would look like with more goals and smarter sharks! Great work!

Way more fun than I was expecting, and was a nice little challenge to get the treasure back. I liked the feel of the controls a lot, while it took some getting used to it was just jank enough to be goofy but not so janky you couldn't learn it quick enough to get the treasure back. It would have been nice if you couldn't get stuck swimming into the ground, but other than that I had a good time :)

Also, the restart button didn't seem to work (playing on chrome), but it wasn't too big of a deal as I could just refresh the page

this was a pretty fun game -- reminded me of the flash games from the early 2000's where you spammed keys to move -- thanks for making it

Cool little game! I'd agree with other commenters that it evokes kinda same feeling as QWOP, but the controls are certainly much easier to get used to here. One thing I'd perhaps change is to add a bit more friction from the water - it felt like using Q/E to spin was constant battle to overcorrect in one direction or another. Maybe playing it with analog controller would have worked better, allowing for more controlled changes. Though that's more of an issue of convenience, it didn't really stop me from beating the game quite quickly.

Also, thanks to the power of swimming through air, I managed to picture a scene of the main character relaxing on board of their ship with the treasure they got.

I liked the light, chill music in the background, it definitely helped make the game a more relaxed experience despite the rather hectic controls. Worked pretty well! :) The graphic style is also great, reminded me of old Atari games, but with modern touch.

Overall, it's a really nice compo entry, well done!
