Depthscalation by octartis

[raw]
made by octartis for Ludum Dare 57 (JAM)

A simple tiny messy platformer.

You're a unknown creature falling from a bottomless pit to your demise and your only hope is to rise up from the depths!

Gamepad should work (tested on a xbox gamepad, analog sticks for movement). Keyboard controls are WASD or the arrow keys for movement, use space-bar key for jumping, but your jumps must be accurate! When landing on a rising platform you must hit the jump button as soon you land on a platform to boost up your jump!

Reach the top of the pit and land to safety to complete a level, nine levels in total.

I've included as downloads a Windows and a Linux version.

Made with Godot, on a crazy Monday :)

Honestly, i dont like how the game looks. but it was fun to play for a couple minutes. The jumping/landing is a bit buggy sometimes, you like stop just a bit above the platform, and then it takes the character a bit to actually land. And i feel like theres a bit of a fight between reaching the top and having a high score - the are kinda the opposite. Still, keep up the work!

The graphic style is pretty original, why did you opt out to the score?

I think the score going up as you jump more is a bit counter-intuitive: ideally you'd want to go up as fast as possible? Thanks for the submission!

Would be nice if the objective would me more clear in the game. Maybe some power ups would spice things up a bit!
