Hey Rookie! Yeah, sorry for the sudden wake-up, but something weird’s going on. Again. No, not the coffee machine this time—well, also the coffee machine—but that’s not your concern.

We just picked up a signal from our waste disposal vessels. Emergency-type. Origin’s... below us. Like, deep down. Somewhere it really shouldn’t be. No idea how it ended up there... let's just hope the retired biomass it was carrying hasn't leaked... who knows what effect that'd have on the environment... and our paychecks.

Anyway. Someone’s gotta check it out. Guess who’s next on the roster?

Grab your suit, take a deep breath and find that trash sub ASAP! Oh, and whatever you do — hold on to that flashlight!

Good luck down there. Try not to die, yeah?

Theme: Depths

[LOG-ECHO 069.B | Recovered Fragment – Origin: Ludum Whiskers]

"Personnel Manifest? Or just another pile of names carved into the biomass?"

SYSTEM RECORDS: (Handwriting partially corrupted, assumed translation below)

TheWhiteShadow – code engineer, responsible for most of the system logic. Blamed for the flickering lights on Floor 3. Still denies it.

Mervvel / Marvin – also coding. Often found arguing with pipes. Pipes never respond.

lensu – environmental visual specialist. Designed the walls. Possibly also lives in them now.

idk some itchio guy / Nadine – creature concepts. No one has seen her, but her designs keep showing up.

MissSpelled / Anouk – responsible for cutscene structuring and narrative fragments and soundeffects. Rumored to speak directly to the vents.

HowToBeHayes – designed the diver’s suit and built the game pages. Left mysterious coffee mugs everywhere.

Milumalu – reshaped the outside zones. Plants, rocks, stuff that might be breathing. Good eye for spooky things.

Amazing work! Absolutely loved the opening cutscene, really felt oppressive and dark down in the water.

The opening cutscene reminded me of old Newgrounds stuff :) I enjoyed the gameplay too - felt quite tense exploring with the light!

I like the bio-technology aesthetic. I think the currently the art style (while swimming) and specifically the enemy movements would need to be worked on to make this game more of a horror game, though I think the game could be developed more in the exploration direction instead of trying to make the horror more extreme. I think the art style and worldbuilding could together make a cool non-linear map with a similar goal of finding a bio-corp package.

Very nice vibe, smooth controls for the most part, might be a skill issue on my part but i kept accidentally hitting the damn kelp things when i was turning around. Very solid entry, great work!

Really like music, i guess i could be more exiting if there will be damage from collision with walls (or losing collected minerals). Nice work!

Nice game, atmospheric, really liked the mechanics of scaring away predatory fish and the character sprite is beautiful and smooth. Contrast between the initial screensaver on the surface and the dark depth of the abyss.
Thanks for this game!

Had a good time with this one. The atmosphere is solid, loved the cutscenes. Some of the enemy hitboxes felt larger than they should have. The light mechanic was super fun! Good job.

This did a really good job of setting a spooky mood, and I thought the graphics were excellent. The starting and ending cutscenes did a really good job of emphasizing how you're traveling from a relatively mundane place to a really spooky place. If there's one thing I'd change, it'd probably be the difficulty: Narrowly avoiding being eaten by a monster is spooky, but repeatedly retrying escaping from a monster is less scary after a few tries.
