rIPoff by VideoDog

made by VideoDog for LD33 (JAM)
rIPoff is a game about stealing other people's IP and Ludum Dare ideas to help fund your non-existent KickStarter project! By stealing other people's IP, you provide updates that make it look as though you have progressed on the project, providing you with more funding and internet cred.

You play as a rogue, sentient AI robot that can de-materialize himself and transfer through the internet. By traveling across the US, you re-materialize to explore the areas and discover more useful IP. You win by obtaining enough funding for your KickStarter.

Controls:

Move: WASD or Arrow Keys
Interact/Talk: X
Jump/WallClimb (for sidescrollers): Space Bar

I like your take on the theme!
Platforming controls made it a bit too slow and I kept getting stuck on things.

Interesting idea but the controls were a bit clunky.

What a peculiar game. I like the idea, and the implementation is so weird that I tried to play all the way through but got stuck trying to pick up the mummy :(

Having to control with a keyboard then switch to the mouse to navigate the speech is annoying.
If you touch a wall and jump you can slide up them. On my first play I managed to escape the map and fall into an abyss of unity default blue.
I like the concept. You truly play as a monster.

Cool looking game, and original concept! But the text is so slow to display that it's physically painful. The jumping bits were also a bit odd, perhaps you can try to make it so the platforms don't stop us on the way up.

Clever theming! And by rights, a complete game with an ending. Nice work!

I like the concept but I really didn't understand the game.. Platforming wasn't needed because I could just ride up walls by holding space, going out of the map.. and then dying?
Could use some explanation, but otherwise a good game.

I don't quite get it. Like the spiral effect tho.

Great game out there, but is it just me, or the jumping mechanism seems a bit buggy? The robot can stick onto sides of platforms.

An absurdist take on IP theft by means of an evil AI robot thing, certainly different :) Controls are a bit weird, but for others, just keep jump down permanently and you'll be pushed up from any side of a platform. Good one.

Nice concept. I liked how the mechanics tied in with the narrative. Interesting and unique idea. It was cool that you had a mixture of top-down exploration and platformer for the different levels. good job!
